LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) - A missing Mooreville woman has been found and is safe, according to the Lee County Sheriff's Department.

On Monday the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation issued a silver alert for 82-year-old Lizzie Langford.

According to the sheriff's department, she was found about one mile away by a creek by sheriff's deputies. Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson says she was found in good shape. He says she thought she was going on a fishing trip.

She was last seen Monday morning sometime near 11 a.m. walking in the 100 block of County Road 1147 in Lee County.

Family members said she suffers from a medical condition that may impair her judgement.

Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson says the sheriff's department and volunteer firefighters searched for Langford during the night.

This is a developing story.
