SALTILLO, Miss. (WTVA) - With the summertime unofficially underway, the water is calling out to boaters specifically at Lake Lamar Bruce in Saltillo.
After three confirmed water-involved deaths during the weekend, law enforcement is encouraging everyone to play it safe when out on the water.
“Anytime you get on the water, you have to have your life jackets,” Leonard Stout said.
Stout has been coming to the lake for years and makes it his business that he informs everyone of the dangers of not having a life jacket when on the water.
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks posted a pre-checklist before heading out on the water which will assure you a safe and good time on the water.
