TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - A man from Mantachie is accused of tampering with a county-owned bulldozer.
The investigation began on Tuesday, Sept. 21 when Lee County deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person on County Road 1310 in the Mooreville area.
A man had reportedly tampered with a bulldozer there, according to the Lee County Sheriff's Department.
When they arrived, deputies found two large batteries on the ground. They also found wires that had apparently been cut to remove the batteries from the bulldozer.
Deputies were told the man was at a nearby store. They found the man, 23-year-old Jose Ramirez, and detained him.
Further investigation led to his arrest, and investigators charged him with felony malicious mischief.
