COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) - Someone shot a man early Sunday morning following the Artesia Day Festival.
Lowndes County Sheriff Eddie Hawkins said the shooting happened shortly after midnight on Obama Street as festival-goers began to leave.
Deputies found the man suffering from gunshot wounds to his face and neck. Medics later airlifted the shooting victim to a hospital in Jackson.
The victim told investigators he didn’t know who shot him.
Investigators are trying to determine if the shooting victim took part in the shooting.
As of Sunday afternoon, deputies hadn’t made any arrests.
