KOSCIUSKO, Miss. (WTVA) - A man was taken into custody after he barricaded himself in his home in Kosciusko.
The incident happened Wednesday morning on South Natchez Street.
Kosciusko Police Chief Herbert Dew confirms this was initially a welfare call. BreezyNews.com reports a caller said the man was inside the home and was threatening to harm himself and that a gunshot had been fired.
The incident continued until approximately 11 a.m. when the man surrendered to law enforcement, Dew confirms.
No charges have been filed at this time.
The man was taken to a Jackson hospital for medical evaluation.
