ASHLAND, Miss. (WTVA) - A Benton County man has been convicted in the deaths of two people killed by his dogs.

Eric Hodges, 35, of Lamar, was found guilty of two counts of manslaughter by a jury following a trial in Ashland.

Hodges was on trial in the 2014 deaths of David Glass and Derrick Sanders.

Investigators say both men were killed by dogs owned by Hodges, who turned them loose to roam at night.

Sanders was killed on July 4 and Glass the following September within 80 yards of Hodges' property.

The dogs were located and euthanized.

Hodges will be sentenced on March 8 in Benton County Circuit Court.
