A local man is accused of fleeing from police in Starkville.

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) - A local man is accused of fleeing from police in Starkville.

On Thursday, Starkville police arrested Richard Wilson, 28, of Starkville, for felony fleeing, careless driving, disregard for traffic device, no driver’s license and no insurance.

Police say they attempted a traffic stop on Wilson’s vehicle at the intersection of Jackson Street and University Drive.

Wilson continued east on University Drive and stopped after hitting a tree near Hunter Henry Boulevard, police say.
