JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - A man will spend the rest of his life in prison for being the force behind the 2011 murder of his disabled cousin in Columbus.
Derrick Bankhead, 41, was sentenced Friday to life in prison without parole.
On July 11, 2011, Derrick Bankhead and three others robbed Eddie Bankhead’s Columbus home.
Attorney General Jim Hood says one of the robbers shot and killed Eddie Bankhead, who was handicapped and wheelchair-bound.
Hood says the three men who were with Derrick Bankhead are currently in jail awaiting trial.
