Man arrested following Tupelo collision

A man has been arrested for DUI after colliding with a woman riding a bicycle.

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) – A man has been arrested for DUI after colliding with a woman riding a bicycle.

The incident happened on Tuesday, November 7 sometime near 11:15 p.m. in the 1300 block of West Jackson Street in Tupelo.

The investigation by Tupelo police revealed a gray 2006 Toyota Corolla collided with a woman riding a bicycle in the roadway.

Police say the woman did suffer injuries but the injuries are described as non-life threatening.

The man driving the Corolla did remain on the scene to provide aid, police report.

“The investigation indicated that alcohol was involved and the driver of the Corolla was arrested for driving under the influence,” police stated.

Police did not release the identity of the driver.

The investigation is ongoing.
