Man severely burned in Oktibbeha County fire

A structure fire in Oktibbeha County sent one person to the hospital with 2nd and 3rd-degree burns.

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) - According to Oktibbeha County fire officials, the fire happened around 2 a.m. Saturday on Hickory Grove Road.

One man was severely burned in the fire and transported to a medical facility with second and third-degree burns.

The East Oktibbeha Fire/Rescue assisted with firefighters, and additional water from the Bell Schoolhouse had to be used.

According to an Oktibbeha Fire spokesperson, the structure fire was quickly controlled and the burn victim was transported immediately.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
