UPDATE: Columbus police still seeking ID of beauty store robber

As of Tuesday afternoon, Columbus police are still asking for help identifying the person shown in the video above. The video is surveillance from the armed robbery at Total Look Beauty Supply at 1234 Main Street in Columbus on November 30.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151.

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi University for Women has alerted its students, faculty and staff of a robbery and advises them to go into lockdown, according to a "W Alert" on Twitter.

According to the tweet, the robbery happened at 1234 Main Street and the suspect is a black male wearing a black leather jacket. 

Columbus police are investigating the incident. 

Columbus Police Chief Fred Shelton said no one was injured during the strong-armed robbery happening just before 7 p.m. on Friday. 

The person is described as a short black man, wearing a dark scarf on his head, a red scarf on his neck and face, a dark jacket, dark shoes, and jeans. 

Shelton said the suspect displayed a handgun and took an unknown amount of money before leaving the scene on foot.
