JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) – Two Mississippi universities have been listed as some of the nation’s best universities for veterans.
According to the Military Times Best: Colleges 2018, the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) ranks as the 17th best university for veterans.
The list also shows Mississippi State University (MSU) at number 44.
The Military Times is an editorially independent news project that evaluates a variety of factors that make colleges and universities a good fit for service members and their families.
The report shows USM had a military enrollment of 654 in 2016. The report shows MSU had a military enrollment of 660 in 2016.
The source used several factors to build the list, including the schools’ 2016 enrollment data, GI Bill gap coverage, staff support, extracurricular, retention and graduation rates.
