JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The state health department reported 914 new cases of the coronavirus and 11 new deaths Thursday, July 2.
The numbers were released late in the day on Friday. The agency did not give a reason for the delay.
The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) updates its case totals each morning based on test results from the previous day.

As of Thursday, July 2, MSDH estimates 19,388 people have recovered from the virus.
Since mid-March, when the state reported its first case of the virus, MSDH has reported 29,684 total cases and 1,103 total deaths.
