JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 505 new COVID-19 cases and 28 new deaths Tuesday, Sept 15.
MSDH updates its case totals each morning based on test results from the previous day.

As of Tuesday, Sept. 15, there have been 90,523 total cases of the virus since mid-March, which is when the state reported its first case. There have been 2,734 total deaths.
The state health department estimates there have been 78,971 recoveries. The MSDH usually updates its estimated recoveries total once a week.
