JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The state health department reported 437 new cases of the coronavirus and 11 new deaths Wednesday, March 10.
The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) updates its case totals each morning based on test results from the previous day.
New coronavirus-related deaths reported to MSDH as of 6 p.m. Tuesday:
Desoto - 1
Harrison - 1
Humphreys - 1
Tate - 1
Tippah - 1
Sixteen confirmed COVID-19 related deaths between February 12 and February 27 were identified from death certificate reports. The additional deaths were reported in the following counties:
Forrest - 1
Lauderdale - 1
Oktibbeha - 1
As of Wednesday, March 10, MSDH estimates 15,323 people have recovered from the virus.
Since mid-March, when the state reported its first case of the virus, MSDH has reported 298,445 total cases and 6,845 total deaths.
