JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 1,942 new COVID-19 cases and 31 new deaths Wednesday, Jan. 13.
New COVID-19 related deaths reported to MSDH as of 6 p.m. Tuesday. Twenty-nine deaths occurred between Dec. 31 and Jan. 12 in the counties below.

Two COVID-19 related deaths occurred between Dec. 24 and Jan. 7, identified from death certificate reports.

As of Wednesday, Jan. 13, there have been 243,899 total cases of the virus since mid-March 2020, which is when the state reported its first case. There have been 5,315 total deaths.
The state health department estimates there have been 198,888 recoveries.
