JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 190 new COVID-19 cases and 2 new deaths Monday, Sept. 28.
MSDH updates its case totals each morning based on test results from the previous day.

New COVID-19 related deaths reported to MSDH as of 6 p.m. Sunday. Both of these deaths occurred on September 26 in the counties below.

As of Monday, Sept. 28, there have been 97,049 total cases of the virus since mid-March, which is when the state reported its first case. There have been 2,921 total deaths.
The state health department estimates there have been 85,327 recoveries. The MSDH usually updates its estimated recoveries total once a week.
