JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 1,775 new COVID-19 cases and 48 new deaths Thursday, July 30.
MSDH updates its case totals each morning based on test results from the previous day.

New COVID-19-related deaths reported to MSDH as of 6 p.m. Wednesday:

- Humphreys - 1
- Jackson - 4
- Jasper - 1
- Jones - 1
- Lafayette - 1
- Lauderdale - 1
- Marshall - 2
- Neshoba - 1
- Panola - 1
- Sunflower - 1
- Tunica - 1
- Washington - 1
Twenty-three confirmed COVID-19 related deaths occurred between July 10 and July 27, identified from death certificate reports. The additional deaths were reported in the following counties:

- Lamar - 1
- Lauderdale - 1
- Lawrence - 1
- Leflore - 2
- Lowndes - 2
- Marshall - 1
- Neshoba - 1

- Walthall - 1
- Washington - 1
- Webster - 1
As of Thursday, July 30, there have been 57,579 total cases of the virus since mid-March, which is when the state reported its first case. There have been 1,611 total deaths.
The state health department estimates there have been 35,071 recoveries.
