JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 1,025 new COVID-19 cases and 18 new deaths Wednesday, July 15.
Wednesday's report also includes 825 hospitalizations.
MSDH updates its case totals each morning based on test results from the previous day.
New COVID-19 related deaths reported to MSDH as of 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Seven confirmed COVID-19 related deaths occurred between July 2 and July 7, identified from death certificate reports. The additional deaths were reported in the following counties:
- Adams - 1
- Claiborne - 1
- Grenada - 1
- Harrison - 1
- Jones - 1
- Lauderdale - 1
- Pike - 1
As of Wednesday, July 15, there have been 38,567 total cases of the virus since mid-March, which is when the state reported its first case. There have been 1,290 total deaths.
The state health department estimates there have been 25,932 recoveries.
