MHP: Man dies after single vehicle accident

One person has passed away after crashing late Saturday night in Oktibbeha County, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) - One person has passed away after crashing late Saturday night in Oktibbeha County, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

The incident was reported around 11:40 p.m.

Sgt. Derrick Beckom with MHP confirms a blue Ford Crown Victoria, driven by 23-year-old Brandon Perry, was traveling west. Authorities say the car ran off Highway 12 and back across the highway hitting a tree.  

Perry was pronounced dead at the scene by Oktibbeha County Coroner Michael Hunt.

The accident remains under investigation.
