JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) – The Mississippi Department of Corrections is reporting the death of another inmate in the system.
In a news release, the agency announced the death of Grayland Cox, 62.
Corrections officials say Cox was an inmate at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility.
The release says he died at Merit Health Central hospital in Jackson Tuesday night.
The statement says no foul play is suspected but an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
Cox is the 23rd inmate to die in a Mississippi prison since the first of the year.
