According to the investigative report, the incident happened sometime near closing time. The store clerk said a light-skinned black male entered the store quickly. The person had on a woman's purple zip-up sweater, a pair of black sweatpants with orange stripes on both legs and something blue covering his face.
The clerk stated the man grabbed her and told her, "give me the money, my baby just died today." A tussle followed. The man reportedly put the clerk in a choke hold and said he wanted the money and did not want to hurt her.
After getting the money, the robber reportedly ran toward Tabernacle Road and got into a vehicle. The vehicle was described as an SUV.
The clerk said she didn't see the man's face, but recognized his voice. A deputy later found the clothing of the robber on Mill Road. The clothing was on the shoulder of the roadway and the ditch.
