COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) - The former assistant to the Lowndes County administrator sued the county and a supervisor for sexual harassment.
In the federal lawsuit, Cynthia Thompson alleged Harry Sanders made inappropriate comments and physical contact.
She claimed the incidents occurred on several occasions in the office.
Thompson said she did mention the incidents to former county administrator Ralph Billingsley who has since left the position.
In her lawsuit, Thompson stated she felt bringing the complaints to the Board of Supervisors would not result in any action against Sanders because other Board members seemed to side with him on matters consistently.
Thompson said she resigned recently after 24 years with the county.
A call to Lowndes County Administrator Jay Fisher about the lawsuit was not returned.
