Local soldiers returning from Middle East deployment

Soldiers from a local unit are returning from their Middle East deployment.

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Soldiers from a local unit are returning from their Middle East deployment.

Soldiers from the Mississippi National Guard’s 155th Armored Brigade Combat Team have been serving in the Middle East since July 2018.

According to the Department of the Army, some soldiers began arriving in the United States on Feb. 16.

Approximately 250 members of the 155th ABCT returned to Mississippi on Monday, Feb. 18. 

The U.S. Army states all 155th ABCT soldiers are expected to be back in the U.S. by late March.

The demobilization process is expected to take approximately 14 days, stated a unit spokesman.
