HOUSTON, Miss. (WTVA) - While restaurants were able to open dine-in services at 50% capacity, those with buffets are having to take even more unique approaches in abiding by state guidelines during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Newly opened restaurant "Southern Tradition" is currently offering buffet service to customers but “cafeteria style."
The Houston restaurant has staff that are in masks and gloves, serving customers as they walk through the line and tell the staff what they want.
Owner, Peggy Buchanan - Rupert, says when people found out about the cafeteria style service it was like a boom.
"I never thought it would be still successful but it was nothing but the grace of the good Lord that it is and I thank him for it everyday. Everybody has been real supportive of Southern Tradition when they found out it was just like a boom everybody was everywhere and that's was truly a blessing because now you know a lot of people been scared to come out to eat," said Peggy Buchanan - Rupert.
The restaurant is also offering carryout services for those who aren’t comfortable eating indoors right now.
