VERONA, Miss. (WTVA) -- One local pharmacy in Verona has almost no one coming to get a coronavirus vaccine.
She received a shipment of 200 Moderna vaccines on Wednesday, but most of them are still in the freezer.
"I'm still looking for appointments and still marketing, and asking for more people to come in and get their vaccine," Jackson said.
She's also now down from 200 vaccines to 190 after only vaccinating three people.
She explained that each vial contains 10 doses, and after puncturing a vial, it's only viable for about 6 hours.
"I had to waste seven vaccines, so I'm down to 190 doses," she said.
When a person comes in to get a vaccine, they receive a card with their name, birthday, and the type of vaccine they received. On the back of the card is the date that person is supposed to return for their second dose.
Jackson added that if a person loses or forgets their card, they can still find your shot record on the State Health Department's website.
"This pandemic, this illness, disease, whatever you want to call it, it's taken lives, it's, it's you know, making people sick, and I just think it's important for people to get the vaccine," she said.
