VERONA, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Verona pharmacist is now waiting on a shipment of different coronavirus vaccines after just recently getting a shipment of Johnson and Johnson vaccines.
Robin Jackson opened Pakmeds Pharmacy in March of 2020
Her pharmacy got a shipment of 400 J&J coronavirus vaccines on Friday.
She gave some vaccinations on Saturday, but then on Monday, she stopped after the CDC's recommendation.
"We're just holding on to it until we have further news of what we're supposed to do," Jackson said.
Keri Pannell regularly visits Pakmeds. She got the Pfizer vaccine (at a different location. This shipment of Johnson and Johnson is the
first load of coronavirus vaccines to arrive at Pakmeds).
"I'm just glad I didn't take the J&J," Pannell said.
"I believe a friend of mine may have gotten sick from it, so with them holding back on the J&J, I think it's a good mark that they did."
Jackson said she is expecting a shipment of Moderna vaccines.
She added they should arrive by the end of the week, and will allow her to start giving vaccinations once more.
"I just hope that people will still get the vaccine and won't let this right here stop them."
A CDC advisory committee is planning to meet on Wednesday to discuss next steps after reports of blood clots in 6 women who were J&J vaccine recipients.
