TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Med Plus medical professionals hope to help with the next phase of vaccinations, but nurse practitioner, Emalee Gullick, said the clinic doesn’t have vaccines just yet.
Gullick said the medical team applied with the Mississippi State Department of Health. They are still waiting on state health professionals to let them know when they will get vaccines.
Gullick said she doesn't know which vaccine the clinic will get. Once Med Plus and other clinics can start giving vaccines, Gullick believes it will help with the work load at state drive- through sites
State Health Officer Thomas Dobbs said more than 170 private clinics and community health centers that wish to start vaccinating patients have requested doses from the state Department of Health.
The Department of Health will release the names of the private clinics that will be vaccinating patients in the coming days.
