TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Local churches who take part in the National Operation Christmas Child program are asking for donations.
They were at Ballard Park Saturday handing out information about the program.

The program sends various items to children in shoeboxes.
Volunteers fill the shoeboxes with hygiene items, school supplies, toys and clothes.
Children all over the world receive the boxes.
Volunteers pray over the boxes and for the children before they send them out.
One box can help eight individuals.
They will be collecting shoeboxes from Nov. 18 through Nov. 25.
You can find drop off locations and information on what items to pack in the shoeboxes here. Open the blue link.
