STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) — Some residents say they already filled out their United States Census form for 2020.
Yulanda Haddix is an enumerator for the census bureau. She said the census matters because it determines funding for the future in your area, like education.

“If you’re not counted, those dollars are not allocated to our community,” she said.
John Griffin said his family filled out the census form.
He believes it’s important to fill it out. “We want to keep the data as accurate as possible, so we can keep those numbers and really understand and keep track of how many people we actually have,” he said.
Walker Hardin said its an easy process and his family filled it out already, too. “It just takes maybe a minute or two and then you know it’s harmless, so go and fill it out," he said.
Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said the deadline is now October 5th.
