Lee County is now listed on the state's active burn ban list.
According to the Mississippi Forestry Commission's website, Lee County's ban was issued on Tuesday and it expires on Oct. 24.

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Lee County may soon be under a burn ban.
The Lee County Board of Supervisors met Monday morning and voted unanimously to ask the Mississippi Forestry Commission to approve a 30-day burn ban, confirmed the Board's secretary Tammy Rodgers.
If approved, Lee County would join Adams, Lauderdale and Montgomery counties on the state’s active burn ban list.

Municipalities such as Starkville, West Point, Pontotoc and Louisville recently issued their own burn bans.
