TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Lee County's circuit clerk said voting results took longer to receive after a computer issue on Tuesday night.
The general election was held on Tuesday.
Circuit Clerk Camille Roberts Delaney had to read aloud the results of the general election.
She had to share each precinct box and add them up because the data, which was computerized, was not being read in the computer.
Delaney said it was the first election using new software.
The flash drives stored with data from the precincts weren't processing.
She was pleased with how the night went, other than the computer issue.
Delaney said this was a good learning situation for her team as they prepare for the 2020 election.
She said they will be able to troubleshoot the process in the future.
