Troopers, police, and deputies captured two people, a man and a woman, near County Road 100 early Friday morning.
The two were taken into custody.
Thursday morning an SUV was reported stolen from Walnut MS. Troopers spotted the SUV in New Albany later that day. After a pursuit through Union County, the suspects ran on foot. INGOMAR, Miss. (WTVA) - Law enforcement officers are searching for the person who stole an SUV and led officers on a chase Thursday.
Mississippi Highway Patrol Sgt. Gary Stanton said the thief stole the white SUV while the vehicle's owner was inside a post office in Walnut.
Walnut is in Tippah County, which borders northern Union County.
Union County Sheriff Jimmy Edwards said state troopers spotted the SUV and chased after it.
The thief abandoned the SUV in the Lone Star Bottom area of southern Union County, the sheriff said.
The driver is described as a white man with tattoos.
