Authorities found the body of David Box late Thursday morning, Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scot confirmed.

Law enforcement gathered on Lake Grove Road.

WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) - Authorities are scouring Clay County in hopes of finding a missing man, David Box.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Department, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and other agencies went to Lake Grove Road Thursday morning.

Box, 59, of West Point, was reported missing exactly one week ago. He was last seen on New Year’s Day.

The car he was last seen driving was found in a flooded area at McLemore Bottom in northern Clay County. Lake Grove Road is in the McLemore Bottom area.

Anyone with information about Box’s whereabouts can call the Clay County Sheriff’s Office at 662-494-2896 or Clay County 911.
