UPDATE: 33 arrests made during New Albany drug roundup

Several law enforcement agencies gathered in New Albany as part of "Operational Ice Crusher."

NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WTVA) - State and local law enforcement officers scoured New Albany Thursday morning as part of “Operational Ice Crusher.”

The joint operation focused on rounding up accused drug offenders.

The operation included the New Albany Police Department, Union County Sheriff’s Office, Mississippi Highway Patrol, Mississippi Department of Corrections and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.

New Albany Police Chief Chris Robertson later confirmed 33 people were arrested and more arrests are still to be made.

Note: The list was provided by the New Albany Police Department on April 12.

He said investigators had been working on this for at least a year and they'll start making more cases soon.
