OKOLONA, Miss. (WTVA) -- An indictment sheds light on the arrest of a former Chickasaw County sheriff deputy.
Jimmy Rappe was arrested March 16th on a child pornography charge.
The indictment obtained by WTVA states Rappe possessed or accessed photographs with intent to view and video of a child under the age of 18 from June through September of 2017.
According to Sheriff Jim Meyers, the attorney general's office contacted him last year about a complaint made against Rappe.
Meyers says Rappe promptly resigned after learning of the attorney general's investigation.
The attorney general's office presented its case to a grand jury March 14th which then returned an indictment.
Rappe is out on a $25,000 bond.
