Hungry hawk causes power outages in Tupelo

Many people in south Tupelo were without power Thursday afternoon after a hawk flew into a nearby substation.

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Many people in south Tupelo were without power Thursday afternoon after a hawk flew into a nearby substation.

Tupelo Water & Light Department went to their Facebook page to post a picture of the dead hawk. The department says the bird was carrying a squirrel when it flew into the substation on South Green Street.
