AMORY, Miss (WTVA)- Food Giant workers are working hard to keep the store clean and provide for their customers.
I asked Food Giant cashier, Kyra Kirk, what precautions the staff is taking to keep the store clean and sanitized, "We are staying hours later to clean the belts, registers, card machines, the riding carts for the elderly."
Workers are trying to clean the store in between rushes.
Store manager, Pat bailey, says it's been a challenge to keep up. "It has been pretty difficult, we are working strenuously to keep things stocked and take care of the customer traffic that has definitely increased."
Food giant placed a limit on some items, like toilet paper, bread, milk, eggs.
Some shelves are empty because stores are having a hard time getting goods from their suppliers.
Supliers are setting limits on what the store can and cannot buy, if the supplier even has the product at all.
Food Giant locations in Northeast Mississippi have set new temporary store hours of 7AM-7PM.
The first hour of business is a senior hour dedicated to the elderly that are at higher risk for COVID 19.
