NETTLETON, Miss. (WTVA) - Administrators at Nettleton School District set the date of June 26th at 7 PM for graduation.
Nettleton senior Nakira Gillard is a basketball player and a track runner.
When school ended early, her track season was canceled because of the coronavirus. She didn't think there would be a graduation either.
"It was sad because we made a lot of memories through high school and I wanted to have my big day with them."
Graduation has a few extra rules and regulations this year:
Students will only be allowed to bring 4 guests.
Ushers will seat families and to help them maintain 6 ft social distancing.
Once graduation is over, the administrators are asking parents and graduates to celebrate off-campus.
Graduates will receive a free copy of the graduation ceremony.
