JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - A new Mason-Dixon poll shows most Mississippians are pleased with the way the governor and president are doing business.

Gov. Phil Bryant's job rating has held steady during the past year.

Statewide - 60 percent approve of Bryant's performance as governor. While 33 percent disapprove, and 7 percent are not sure

These results are similar to those from December 2017 when Bryant’s numbers showed a 59 percent approval rate and a 31 percent disapproval rate.

Although President Trump’s national numbers have been slipping, that’s not the case in Mississippi.

Statewide - 56 percent currently approve of the president’s job performance; while 40 percent disapprove, and 4 percent are not sure.

To put this into perspective, his December 2017 job approval rate was 51 percent. His job disapproval rate was at 43 percent.

This Mason-Dixon poll was conducted from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1.

More than 600 registered Mississippi voters were questioned over the phone.

Officials said the margin of error is approximately 4 percent.
