Funeral arrangements announced for Dick Rice

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Funeral arrangements have been announced for Chief Meteorologist Emeritus Dick Rice who died during the weekend at the age of 80.

Per his request, a private family graveside service will be held at Lee Memorial Park in Verona.

Dick Rice joined WTVA in the late 1970s.

Longtime weatherman Dick Rice died at the age of 80.

Dick Rice (center) learned meteorology while serving in the U.S. Navy.

Friends may visit Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo Tuesday afternoon from noon to 5 p.m. to pay their respects by signing a register book and watching videos of Rice's life.
