WINONA, Miss. (WTVA) - The Winona community gathered to raise money for the recovery of a 13-year-old boy who was attacked by dogs in March.
Aden Green was attacked by a pack of dogs while riding his bike near his home on Sawyer Road in Winona.
On Saturday, people and vendors gathered in Winona to show their support for his recovery.
Family, friends and strangers met at the Montgomery County Coliseum for a day full of food, music and fun, all to raise money for Green.
Vendors set up booths to sell items such as jewelry and home decor.
There was also a balloon artist, bounce houses and gospel performances.
Green made an appearance at the event.
He arrived with his mom and brother who said Green insisted on being there.
People raced to greet the boy with hugs and words of encouragement.
Green said he thinks he will be healed up and back on his bike in no time.
After the attack in March, Green was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson and put into a medically-induced coma.
Green is now healing at his grandparents' home where he lives in Winona.
