TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Family Resource Center announced a pause in its food drives at the Tupelo Furniture Market.
The center and its partners held their fourth consecutive food drive Wednesday.
The giveaway had traffic backed-up around the Tupelo Furniture Market and out in the road as volunteers handed out boxes filled with food.
Organizers said a delay in grants means no giveaways will take place for the next three weeks.
Family Resource Executive Director Christi Webb said the giveaways have been a big help for families during the pandemic.
“If there are families in the counties, Lee County or surrounding counties that are experiencing food insecurity, please contact the Family Resource Center, and we will try to help you,” Webb said.
The next food drive is scheduled for Sept. 2.
Webb said the drive will be much larger than previous ones with nearly double the amount of food, and the boxes will include meat products.
