Firefighters respond to two Pontotoc County house fires

Two families are recovering following two overnight house fires in Pontotoc County.

PONTOTOC, Miss. (WTVA) - Two families are recovering following two overnight house fires in Pontotoc County.

The first house fire happened sometime near 10:30 p.m. just off Highway 341 near the Calhoun County line.

Pontotoc County Fire Coordinator Adam Patton says the residents were at home when the fire started. No one was injured.

He says the house is considered a total loss.

The second fire happened sometime near midnight on Wise Bend Road in the Hurricane community.

Patton says this family was also home at the time of the fire. No one was injured.

This house is also considered a total loss.

The causes of both fires are to be determined. However, foul play is not suspected.
