Shortly after 3:00 Saturday afternoon, fire crews responded to a field fire in east Oktibbeha County.
Fire Services Coordinator Kirk Rosenhan said someone was baling hay when a piece of equipment malfunctioned.
As a result, several hay bales caught on fire, along with about 30 acres of the field, according to Rosenhan.
No houses or woods were impacted by the fire.
Nobody was hurt as crews worked to extinguish the flames.
Fire crews from East Oktibbeha, Bell Schoolhouse and Tibee all responded.
Rosenhan says this is now the third field fire since the burn ban was issued a few weeks ago.
As a reminder, the entire state is operating under a burn ban.
