RIVERSIDE, Calif. (WTVA) – The former wife of NBA player Lorenzen Wright briefly appeared in court Monday morning.
Sherra Wright has been charged first-degree murder in his 2010 death.
According to Memphis’ Fox 13, the hearing was supposed to center around sending her back to Memphis to face charges.
However, it was pushed back until Wednesday. She appeared in California court in a wheelchair. The Shelby County District Attorney's Office says her public defender wants a jail doctor to examine her.
Police and federal marshals in Riverside County, Calif., arrested the 46-year-old on Friday, December 15.
Wright’s decomposing body was found in suburban Memphis on July 28, 2010 – 10 days after the 34-year-old was reported missing. He was shot multiple times.
In November, police found a gun believed to have been used in the killing. The gun was found in a lake near Walnut, Miss.
