PONTOTOC COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) - A Pontotoc County family is desperately searching for one of their own and they are asking for the public's help.
Family members last saw Jose Nava, 21, on February 28th.
Since then, the Nava family is using every resource they have to find him; including social media, fliers, t-shirts and searches.
“He’s 21-years-old. He’s got black hair, brown eyes," Brenda Nava, his sister, said.
She said Jose is one of 11 siblings and he is the youngest of the boys.
“He’s a really happy boy. He’s shy," Brenda said. "Everybody knows that Jose is shy. He’s not a ‘come and talk to you’. If you say, ‘Hey, Jose,’ he’s going to look at you and smile.”
One family is always searching for Jose at a given time. “My dad is not here," Brenda said in an exclusive interview with WTVA. "He’s looking for him. He drives his car every day just to go find him.”
Meanwhile, Jose and Brenda's mother sits at home restlessly. Micaela Jiménez is a diabetic and recently had foot surgery.
“What I’m asking is that you help find my son," Micaela said with tears in her eyes. "He’s a good son.”
For eight days, the Nava family is struggling with the loss of Jose.
Over the weekend, they organized a search in the area of Marshall County where someone found his vehicle. It now sits in the Nava family's yard.
Meanwhile, the Nava family is depending on its faith. They created several alters in their home in honor of Jose.
“I know and I believe in my heart that God is gonna guide us to him," Brenda said. "I ask everyone that is watching this, please pray... pray.”
The Chief Investigator Major Kelly McMillen with the Marshall County Sheriff's Office said there is a reward that is being offered for any information that leads to finding Jose.
