CLAY COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) – A West Point man faces drug-related charges following a short pursuit.
The short vehicle pursuit happened on Saturday and resulted in the arrest of Timothy Gillespie, 38.
Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott says Gillespie attempted to escape officers in an eventual foot chase but was captured in the woods by deputies on CC Line Road in Una.
Deputies recovered synthetic marijuana (spice) and approximately 1 gram of crack cocaine.
As a result, he was charged with resisting arrest, careless driving, improper equipment, fleeing arrest, DUI-1st, possession of synthetic marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.
He is being held on a Mississippi Department of Corrections warrant.
