TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks closed the boat ramp at Elvis Presley Lake in Tupelo in preparation for renovations.
The drainage work began in early June, but the boat ramp remained open.
Fishing will be allowed while the lake continues to drain.
All daily limits have been lifted, and anglers may keep as many fish as they want until the lake closes, but only by rod and reel or pole.
No other fishing gear is allowed.
A state lake permit and a Mississippi fishing license are required unless exempt under state law.
While the lake is closed, an inspection of the dam and the lake’s drainage system will be conducted, as well as facility improvements.
