TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - This year's Dance Like the Stars event raised over $271,000 for the Boys and Girls Clubs of North Mississippi.
Going into Saturday night's event, local celebrities raised $261,378.50. Following the event, a total of $271,243 was collected.
Miriam Anderson of Ripley was named Grand Champion after raising over $50,000.
Meanwhile, supporters had the opportunity to watch the event in-person or through the live stream by the Boys and Girls Clubs of North Mississippi on Facebook.
Stars took on a variety of dance styles from salsa, the foxtrot, cha-cha and more.
Ole Miss' Chair of the Department of Music Nancy Maria Balach came in first place for her performance of the final number from Dirty Dancing to "Time of My Life."
Tupelo's Brooke Burleson placed second with a performance to The Weather Girls' "It's Raining Men" and Victor McMillan, also of Tupelo, placed third with a performance to MKTO's "Classic."
And WTVA's Daniella Oropeza won this year's People Choice Award.
